Natural Breathing with Functional Precision
Our ENT surgeons correct a deviated septum from inside the nose using endoscopic techniques. Your plan is tailored to airflow, anatomy, and co-factors (turbinates, valves, allergy) for results that feel natural and functional.

Why Consider Septoplasty?
A deviated septum can narrow one or both nasal passages, causing persistent blockage, mouth breathing, or pressure. Septoplasty reopens the internal airway without changing the outside shape of your nose.
- Easier nasal breathing day and night
- Fewer blockage-related sinus symptoms in many patients
- Better exercise tolerance and sleep comfort
- No external incisions
How the Procedure Works
After endoscopic examination and planning, your surgeon straightens the internal septum through incisions inside the nose. Support is preserved so the nose keeps its structure.
- Endoscopic, internal approach under general anesthesia (day surgery)
- Precise reshaping/repositioning of bent cartilage or bone spurs
- Soft internal splints only if needed—removed in clinic at ~1 week
Septoplasty: Techniques & When We Use Them
We match technique to your airflow pattern and anatomy for the most meaningful improvement:
- Isolated septoplasty — for septal deviation as the main bottleneck
- Septoplasty + turbinate reduction — when enlarged turbinates also limit flow
- Septoplasty + valve support — for weak or narrow internal nasal valves
- Septorhinoplasty — when functional correction is combined with aesthetic goals
Planning for Different Anatomies
Airflow is influenced by more than the septum. We tailor your plan to the factors that matter most:
- Allergy or rhinitis — optimize sprays/rinses alongside surgery
- Valve weakness — consider support to prevent collapse with deep breaths
- Athletes & snorers — strategies to reduce resistance under load and at night
Who Is a Good Candidate?
You may be a candidate if symptoms match endoscopic findings and medical therapy hasn’t fully relieved blockage.
- Documented septal deviation with corresponding airflow loss
- Persistent congestion despite directed medical care
- Healthy enough for day surgery with realistic expectations
Recovery & Aftercare
Expect pressure and congestion—not sharp pain—in the first few days. Most patients return to desk work within the week.
- Saline rinses and gentle nasal care as directed
- Avoid forceful nose blowing for ~1 week; sneeze with mouth open
- Light cardio after ~1–2 weeks; follow-ups to monitor healing
